If you tried to purchase an Xbox 360 Arcade from Amazon during their Lighting Deal promotion on November 7 but weren’t quick enough to checkout, you might get another chance to get your Xbox 360 Arcade and $100 promotional code. Amazon just sent me an email saying that I can order the 360 until November 14 and still receive the $100 promotion code. So if you’re like me and canceled your order because you missed out on the lighting deal, you might be receiving an email soon from Amazon.
Last week, Walmart had a special electronics sale on November 7. If you purchased an Xbox Arcade for $199, you would receive a free $100 Walmart Gift Card. To match this offer, Amazon decided to offer the Xbox 360 Arcade with a free $100 promotional code that could be used towards a future purchase.
Amazon offered the Xbox 360 Arcade as part of their Gold Box special offers. There were two chances to buy the 360: One at 6am PST and the other at 12pm PST. Needless to say, within minutes, the 360s were sold out and many people didn’t get a chance to get in on this great deal.
As soon as the item was available, I added it to my cart, and once I reached the checkout page, I didn’t qualify for the $100 promotional code anymore. The reason that I jumped on this deal was because of the free $100 promotion code. Since I didn’t qualify for that anymore, I decided to call Amazon to cancel my order. The customer support representative informed me that I my order wasn’t part of the special deal and that I wouldn’t receive the $100 promotion code. I canceled my order and patted myself on the back for trying; it was worth it.
Fast forward to 15 minutes ago. I get an email from amazon stating that they realized that I canceled my order that was placed during the Lightning Deal Promotion, and that if I canceled my order due to problems with the promotions, they would like to offer me the deal again, if I’m still interested. So, if you canceled your order, you will probably receive an email similar to the one below. I think it’s nice of Amazon to do this, especially since I decided not to go to Walmart that morning to get this awesome deal.

We noticed you cancelled your order# xxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx originally placed during the Lightning Deal promotion for the Xbox 360 Arcade console on November 7, 2009. If you cancelled your order due to problems with the promotion, we want to make sure you can take advantage of this deal if you’re still interested.
If you order an Xbox 360 Arcade Console by 11:59pm PT on November 14, your order will qualify you for the $100 promotional code. The $100 promotional code does not apply to the purchase of the Xbox 360 Arcade itself, but is valid for a qualifying future purchase. The offer is limit one per household and is not transferable.
To order the console, go to the product’s detail page listed below, add it to your cart for $199.99, and check out as normal. Please note, Amazon.com must be the seller in order for you to qualify for the promotion.
